Add an IMAP account with mySMTP

Open account settings

In Outlook, tap your profile icon, then tap Settings > Accounts > Add account.

Enter your email address

Type your email address, then tap Add account or Advanced.

Select IMAP

Choose IMAP account.

Enter incoming server details

Fill in your incoming mail server settings as provided by your email provider.

Enter outgoing SMTP details

In the outgoing server section, enter:
  • SMTP host name: your relay hostname (e.g. relayxx.mysmtp.com)
  • Port: 587
  • Security: STARTTLS
  • User Name: your mySMTP SMTP username
  • Password: your mySMTP SMTP password

Complete setup

Tap Done or the checkmark to finish. Send a test email to verify delivery.
Outlook Mobile does not let you edit the SMTP server on an existing account. To change the outgoing server later, remove the account and add it again with the steps above.

Troubleshooting

  • Cannot send mail: verify the SMTP host name matches the one in your setup email.
  • Connection fails: check that the port is 587 and security is STARTTLS. If your network blocks 587, try 2525.
  • Authentication error: re-enter your mySMTP username and password.
