The mySMTP Email API will let you send email from your application over HTTPS instead of SMTP. It is planned for release in late Q4 2026. Until then, every mySMTP account sends through the SMTP relay, which works with any application, library, or device.
The API is not available yet. This page will be updated with endpoints, authentication, and code examples when it launches.

API components

The API platform has four primary functional components across synchronous and asynchronous communication paradigms:

1. Management API

Control-plane management, configuration, relay discovery.
  • API type: Synchronous REST (with Async task execution)
  • Protocol: HTTPS (JSON)
  • Pattern: Request-Response (202 Accepted for background tasks)

2. Event API

Realtime server-side signaling, async task completion notifications.
  • API type: Asynchronous / Event-Driven
  • Protocol: HTTPS (SSE / text/event-stream)
  • Pattern: Unidirectional Server Push Stream

3. WebSocket feed API

Continuous dashboard feeds, live logs, datatable state, metrics.
  • API type: Asynchronous / Event-Driven
  • Protocol: WSS (WebSockets)
  • Pattern: Full-Duplex / Bidirectional Stream

4. Mail submission APIs

Direct relay and global fleet-send mail submission and queue acceptance.
  • API type: Synchronous Request-Response
