PrestaShop supports custom SMTP servers natively. Connect it to mySMTP so order confirmations, account emails, and marketing messages are delivered reliably.

Prerequisites

SMTP settings

Shared IP plans are only available to customers in Denmark.

Configure SMTP in PrestaShop

1

Open E-mail settings

Log in to your PrestaShop back office. Go to Advanced Parameters → E-mail.
2

Select custom SMTP

Under Send emails to, choose Set my own SMTP parameters. The SMTP configuration fields appear.
3

Enter mySMTP settings

Fill in the form:
  • SMTP server: your real mySMTP hostname (from your setup email)
  • SMTP username: your mySMTP username
  • SMTP password: your mySMTP password
  • Encryption: TLS
  • Port: 587
4

Send a test email

Enter an email address you control under Test your email configuration, then click Send a test email. Check your inbox for the message.
5

Save settings

Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Make sure the From address used by PrestaShop belongs to your authenticated domain. You can set this under Shop Parameters → Contact → Stores for contact emails, or in the relevant module settings for marketing emails.

Troubleshooting

Confirm you entered your real mySMTP hostname (not relayxx.mysmtp.com), port 587, and TLS. Re-enter your username and password without extra spaces. If your hosting provider blocks 587, try port 2525.
Verify SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are configured for your domain. See DNS settings quick explainer and SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and BIMI explained.
Run the Sender Readiness Checklist and Email Header Analyzer in the mySMTP Deliverability Toolbox.
This option is standard in PrestaShop 1.7 and 8.x. If you do not see it, check that your shop is not using the PHP mail() function setting, which PrestaShop labels differently in some older versions.
