# Send WooCommerce order emails through mySMTP

> Ensure WooCommerce transactional emails reach customers by routing them through mySMTP with the WP Mail SMTP plugin.

WooCommerce relies on WordPress `wp_mail()` to send order confirmations, shipping notifications, and password resets. To make sure these emails reach customers, route them through mySMTP using the WP Mail SMTP plugin.

## Prerequisites

* WooCommerce installed and active on WordPress
* Admin access to WordPress
* Your mySMTP credentials (see [Setting up SMTP credentials](/getting-started/setting-up-smtp-credentials))
* A verified sending domain

## SMTP settings

| Setting | Value |
| - | - |
| Host | `relayxx.mysmtp.com` (from your setup email) |
| Host (shared IP, DK only) | `mail.mysmtp.com` |
| Port | `587` |
| Encryption | TLS |
| Username | Your mySMTP SMTP username |
| Password | Your mySMTP SMTP password |

<Note>
  Shared IP plans are only available to customers in Denmark.
</Note>

## Connect mySMTP to WordPress

WooCommerce does not have its own SMTP settings. Configure `wp_mail()` at the WordPress level so all WooCommerce emails use mySMTP.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install and activate WP Mail SMTP">
    In WordPress, go to **Plugins → Add New Plugin**. Search for **WP Mail SMTP by WPForms**, then install and activate it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure Other SMTP">
    Go to **WP Mail SMTP → Settings**. Under **Mailer**, choose **Other SMTP**. Fill in:

    * **SMTP Host:** your real mySMTP hostname (from your setup email)
    * **Encryption:** TLS
    * **SMTP Port:** `587`
    * **Authentication:** On
    * **SMTP Username:** your mySMTP username
    * **SMTP Password:** your mySMTP password
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the From email and name">
    Set **From Email** to an address on your authenticated domain (for example, `orders@yourdomain.com`). Set **From Name** to your store name. Enable **Force From Email** and **Force From Name**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and test">
    Click **Save Settings**, then go to **Email Test** and send a test email to yourself.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Match WooCommerce sender settings to mySMTP

WooCommerce lets you define a sender name and address under **WooCommerce → Settings → Emails**. These values must match the authenticated domain you use with mySMTP.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open WooCommerce email settings">
    In WordPress admin, go to **WooCommerce → Settings → Emails**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the From address">
    Scroll to the bottom of the page. Set **From address** to the same domain-verified address you configured in WP Mail SMTP (for example, `orders@yourdomain.com`).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the From name">
    Set **From name** to your store or brand name. This appears in the recipient's inbox.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save changes">
    Click **Save changes** at the bottom of the page.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  If the WooCommerce **From address** uses a different domain than the one authenticated in mySMTP, mailbox providers may reject or filter the mail. Always use the same verified domain.
</Warning>

## Test order emails

Create a test product and place a test order, or use a sandbox payment gateway. Check that the order confirmation email arrives at the customer address and shows the correct sender name and address.

You can also view recent sends and check for errors in the WP Mail SMTP logs, if logging is enabled.

  <Accordion title="Order emails not arriving">
    First confirm the WP Mail SMTP test email succeeds. Then verify that WooCommerce email types are enabled under **WooCommerce → Settings → Emails**. Make sure the order status changes (for example, from Pending to Processing) because some emails trigger only on status transitions.

    Verify SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are configured for your sending domain. See [SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and BIMI explained](/deliverability/spf-dkim-dmarc-and-bimi-explained).

    <Tip>
      Run the [Sender Readiness Checklist](https://toolbox.smtp.ai/) and [Email Header Analyzer](https://toolbox.smtp.ai/) in the mySMTP Deliverability Toolbox.
