# Configure mySMTP with Magento 2 SMTP settings

> Send transactional emails from Magento 2 or Adobe Commerce using mySMTP by configuring the built-in SMTP mail settings with your credentials.

Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce can send transactional emails through mySMTP using the built-in SMTP transport, available in version 2.4.7 and above, or a third-party SMTP module for earlier versions.

## Prerequisites

* Admin access to the Magento admin panel
* Your mySMTP credentials (see [Setting up SMTP credentials](/getting-started/setting-up-smtp-credentials))
* A verified sending domain

## SMTP settings

| Host | `relayxx.mysmtp.com` (from your setup email) |
| Host (shared IP, DK only) | `mail.mysmtp.com` |
| Port | `587` |
| Encryption | TLS (STARTTLS) |
| Username | Your mySMTP SMTP username |
| Password | Your mySMTP SMTP password |

<Note>
  Shared IP plans are only available to customers in Denmark.
</Note>

</Tip>

## For versions older than 2.4.7

Magento versions before 2.4.7 do not include a built-in SMTP transport. Install a well-maintained third-party SMTP extension from the Magento Marketplace, then enter the same host, port, username, and password shown in the table above. Always choose an extension from a reputable vendor and keep it updated.

## Set store email addresses

Make sure the addresses Magento uses as senders are on your authenticated domain.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Store Email Addresses">
    In the Magento admin panel, go to **Stores → Configuration → General → Store Email Addresses**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set sender addresses">
    Update the addresses for **General Contact**, **Sales Representative**, **Customer Support**, and **Custom Email 1/2** to use your verified domain (for example, `sales@yourdomain.com` and `support@yourdomain.com`).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save changes">
    Click **Save Config**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Using a default address like `example.com` or an unauthenticated domain can cause mail to be rejected or filtered by mailbox providers.
</Warning>

## Send a test email

Go to **Stores → Configuration → Advanced → System → Mail Sending Settings** (or your third-party SMTP extension test page) and send a test email to an address you control. Confirm it arrives and shows the correct sender domain.
