## SMTP settings

| Port | **587** |
| Connection encryption | **STARTTLS** |

## Troubleshooting

* **Cannot connect:** check that your firewall allows outbound traffic on port 587. If blocked, try port **2525** or **25**.
* **Authentication failed:** re-enter your mySMTP username and password. They are case-sensitive.
* **Relay denied:** the sender address must use a domain authenticated for your mySMTP account. See [DNS settings quick explainer](/getting-started/dns-settings-quick-explainer).
* **No STARTTLS option:** on older models, choose **TLS** or enable the highest available encryption setting and confirm the port is 587.
