# mySMTP Email API: Send Over HTTPS (Coming Late Q4 2026)

> The mySMTP REST API for sending email over HTTPS is coming in late Q4 2026. Learn what to expect and how to send with SMTP relay in the meantime.

The mySMTP Email API will let you send email from your application over HTTPS instead of SMTP. It is planned for release in **late Q4 2026**. Until then, every mySMTP account sends through the SMTP relay, which works with any application, library, or device.

<Info>
  The API is not available yet. This page will be updated with endpoints, authentication, and code examples when it launches.
</Info>

## API components

The API platform has four primary functional components across synchronous and asynchronous communication paradigms:

    * **API type:** Synchronous REST (with Async task execution)
    * **Protocol:** HTTPS (JSON)
    * **Pattern:** Request-Response (`202 Accepted` for background tasks)

    * **API type:** Asynchronous / Event-Driven
